Chopper stepper drives

The low power chopper drives for bipolar stepper motors are the entry-level products by AEC.

This series is characterised by compact size and maximum simplicity of use. The drives are equipped with Chopper systems with high performance Mosfet final stage. The devices are provided with protections against short-circuit and temperature.
The drives are able to control stepper motors with nominal current up to 3 Amp.

Programmable vector stepper drives

VectorStep series drives (SMD10.04, SMD30.06 and SMD50.06) use the most advanced technologies in field oriented vector control applied to stepping motors.


The EVSC algorithm (Enhanced Vector Space Control), developed by AEC, permits to obtain a smooth and noiseless rotation with low vibrations, and allows an advanced management of resonances and torque ripple.


All of these features ensure the best performances at any speed, either in open-loop mode and in in closed-loop mode.


 VectorStep range includes Step/Direction drives; drives with integrated axis controller; programmable drives, which operate in stand-alone mode or connected to Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, CANopen, Profibus DP and Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP networks.

Stepper motors
